For the purpose of arranging a funeral it may be necessary to collect personal data on religion. This personal data is classed as “Special Category Data” and GDPR regulations state that this kind of data is more sensitive and needs more protections. This Personal data will only be shared with the third parties who need to know this information so that we can administer the funeral or prepaid funeral.
The legal basis for us to process your personal data is for the performance of a contract or to set up a funeral plan.

The applicant of a funeral provides us with personal data when we arrange the funeral. This data may be collected face to face, over the telephone or electronically through our website, social media or email. This data may be recorded on paper and/or stored onto our computer system. We may also hold personal data from previous funerals arranged and collect information from third parties such as local councils, other family members and churches and graveyards.

Purpose of collecting data

Low Price Funerals will use your personal data to plan, manage and complete the applicant’s funeral wishes.  We adhere to the SAIF (National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors) code of practice and manage your data in compliance with the GDPR regulations. Your data will be securely stored by ourselves both on paper and electronically.
We may use your personal data for marketing purposes if you have opted in to receive tailored marketing information. Under the GDPR regulations if you have not opted in to be contacted you will not receive any marketing information from us or carefully selected third parties.  When browsing our website a small text file called a cookie will be saved into your internet browser, the information collected by this cookie will not be used to contact you.

The data Low Price Funeral collects will be stored securely. If you contact us and ask what data we hold on you we shall reply within 28 days with the details of the data we hold on you, the sources from which we obtained the data, the purpose of processing the data and information on who the data may have been shared with.

If any data we hold on you is incorrect or incomplete you have the right to request that this is rectified.

Right of erasure

You have the right to request data that we hold on you is erased both electronically and on paper. It may be necessary in some instances to retain some data for set a period of time to satisfy legal responsibilities.

Right to restriction of processing

Subject to exceptions you have the right to restrict how we process your data, if the accuracy of your personal data is disputed by you in this case the processing may be restricted until the accuracy is verified. You may also request that the use of your data is restricted rather than be deleted. You may also request that the use of your personal data is restricted if you object to us using your data pending clarification on whether there is a legitimate reason for us to override the objections.
